Fishing, anyone?
We decided to try boat camping this weekend. This was my second time taking the boat out by myself. My worst fear would be that I would get the boat in the water and the battery would be dead. Well, I put that out there and it happened. Not to worry, the park ranger came and jumped us, so we were off and running. We just got started across the lake and it didn't smell right. The engine was reading dangerously hot, so we slowed and down and it started smoking. I cut the engine and said this isn't worth it. Trevor just knew that we were going to die. We had food and water, we wouldn't perish to soon. Some nice fishermen towed us back to the dock. I called James, with no answer, and said the boat was dead in the water and if you didn't want to come until the planned time that would be fine. This was 3:30 pm. So we hung out at the launch dock and practiced casting the fishing poles. Trevor had been dying to go fishing. He had a clothes pin on the end of his and just kept tossing it out and reeling it back. James didn't get the message until he left work. He arrived to save the boat. We hung out at the lake and the kids started to really fish. It all turned out good in the end and we will try again at the end of August to go camping again.

I am such a fraidy-cat . . . I would never take the boat out by myself. You are my hero!! I can't believe you were so calm and sensible. What a great mom you are! The videos are awesome.
wow-they are great at catching fish! Too bad about the boat-positive thinking is a good thing right? Better luck next time.
Nice videos! They are getting so big!
