Guinea Pigs

                    

Proudly introducing Cody and Zac, respectively, to the Chapman family.

Alexia had a friend that was needing to find a new home for the guinea pigs.  I told her she had to keep her room picked up for a month and then I would think about it.  (She hasn't since then.)  I was thinking they were smaller, so when they arrived I was a bit surprised.  She used her birthday money to pay for them.  They are really sweet and don't require too much work.

Lacrosse

We made it through another lacrosse season.  James was the high school coach with Connor.  We moved Trevor to a team in Meridian to make practice schedules easier.

Trevor's team, the Raptors, won 2 games over the season.   Trevor played defense and was pretty good.  The last few games he played goalie.

Alexia's team, the Green Turtles, lost every game.  They took her previous team and broke it up.  They went more geographically.  She was still a little hot shot.

Connor's team won 2 games.  The program is building.  There was improvement from the beginning of the season to the end.

Student(s) of the Month

Alexia and Trevor both received Student of the Month for February. The value was responsibility.

Alexia - Alexia has gone above and beyond expectations. Alexia picks up balls on the playground, offers to help with papers, and she always finds something quiet to work on when finished her assignments. Thanks, Alexia! Mr. Clapp

Alexia also got Student of the Month for December. The value was citizenship.

Alexia - Alexia has been an outstanding citizen. She is helpful and considerate. I can always count on Alexia to give her best effort in every situation. Thanks, Alexia! Keep up the good work! Mr. Clapp

Alexia turns 12!

Where does the time go. Alexia was so excited for her birthday. She went to young womens the week before to their planning meeting. At age 12, in our house, you can have your ears pierced. (This only applies to girls.)

I pulled her out of school for lunch and an afternoon of shopping. We met James at TGI Friday's for lunch. She was student of the month in December and had a free lunch certificate. Gotta love the freebies. Afterwards we went to Claire's for the ear piercing. I had told her that she was paying for it and she was ok with that until we found out how much it would cost. They prefer using gold to pierce because there is little reaction. So with the price of gold the way it is, it's $50 to get holes in your ears. James was teasing her saying, "I have never seen anyone so excited to get holes in their head." So we split the difference and she got little birthstones.

We then went and got some new shoes. Cute boots and church shoes. There was a sale, of course. With new shoes, you need new clothes. There is a great consignment store called Platos Closet. She can somewhat fit into size XS and 0's. She needs to grow a little taller. We found some cute tops and a skirt. When we were done, she proclaimed herself a "new woman".




Friday after school, she had invited four friends to her party at Ceramic. (Anita, Steffani, Chelle, and Becca) It's a place where you can paint pottery. We had pick out letters for each of the girls to paint. I painted a salsa bowl. We then came back to our house for pizza, presents and cupcakes. We'll see the fired creations in about a week.

STUDENT of the Month

"Lexi" Chapman is Hillcrest Elementary Student of the Month. (5th grade This is the second time this school year that she has received this award.)

Because you take initiative to look for ways to help in the classroom. You are helpful and find solutions when you see problems.

Mr. Dearing

Alexia turns 11.

The time is flying faster. One more year and she'll be in Young Women's.

She wanted a party at home so she could invite more people. We had pizza, Toy Story 3 and decorated cupcakes.

San Francisco

Here we go again, this time with Alexia. We drove to San Francisco. We did all the touristy things, Golden Gate, Ghiradelli, Fishermans Wharf. We found the Fortune cookie factory and Anna got to SHOP. On the way home we went to the Jelly Belly factory.

Lacrosse

We made it through another season.

Anna played Junior Varsity for Bishop Kelly High school. She played defense and the team won the state championship.

Connor finished his last year in the youth league, U-15 as a long pole defenseman. He had a desent year. He did make the travel team and will be going to Denver. James coach again this year for Connor's team and will be helping on the travel team.

Alexia had her 2nd year playing. She played home position (offense). She got pretty good, and almost score a goal every game.

Alexia turns double digits!

Alexia is now 10. We went and got mani/pedis. We usually do our own nails and toenails on Sundays but it was nice to have someone else do them.


For her birthday, they gave her the day off from school. That was so nice of them. We had a pizza party. Stephanie, Kim and Anita came. After the pizza, we came back to the house and they made magnets and bracelets.

Back to School

We made it back to school, with minor shuffling. YEEAAAHH!!

Mikah is a Junior with a job as a buser at the Country Club, taking an online class, Orchestra and three advanced classes. Connor is in eight grade, running cross country and yearbook. And taking two advanced classes. Alexia is in fourth grade and Trevor in second grade.

Lacrosse

Another season has come and gone. What will I do with all my free time. Both Alexia and Connor played and James coached. Schedules didn't conflict too much except for games. James made it to the last part of one of her games. She played on the U13 club because they didn't have enough U11. (under 13, under 11) Eventhough she was the shortest, she scored one goal and two assists for the season. They won four games and came together really well by the end of the season. Connor's team on the other hand, let's just say that it was a building year. They won one game. Connor has found a position that he likes, defenseman or long pole.

Alexia's Birthday

Nine years ago, @ 3:00 am, Alexia Chapman decided to grace us with her wonderful spirit. On her actual date no less. She's been our beautiful daisy among the dandylions in the family. We are having a bowling party on Saturday to celebrate. We had a birthday cake tonight. I will warn you the video has singing. We love her so much.
