Student of the month

Trevor received student of the month for September.  This was because ... You have learned the classroom rules and procedures.  You treat your classmates and adults with respect.  Thank you for being a great example.  Mr. Dearing

Lacrosse

We made it through another lacrosse season.  James was the high school coach with Connor.  We moved Trevor to a team in Meridian to make practice schedules easier.

Trevor's team, the Raptors, won 2 games over the season.   Trevor played defense and was pretty good.  The last few games he played goalie.

Alexia's team, the Green Turtles, lost every game.  They took her previous team and broke it up.  They went more geographically.  She was still a little hot shot.

Connor's team won 2 games.  The program is building.  There was improvement from the beginning of the season to the end.

Trevor turns double digits!

Trevor is a Lego maniac!! Everything is about Legos, so we had a Lego birthday party.

He had three friends come, Thomas, Eric and Andrew from church. We played Guess how many Legos, Lego Bingo, in which, they had to find the pieces out of the Lego bin and then they each had five pieces of Legos that they each took turns building on to make something as a group. The bag and the boxes held Lego prizes.




We made Lego cupcakes and two smaller Legos. It's a good thing that Eric's mom had made Lego cakes for the Blue and Gold banquet, so I could get the tricks.



He received all Lego gifts and the money he received for gifts went for Legos. Can you tell what he likes to do in his spare time?

Student(s) of the Month

Alexia and Trevor both received Student of the Month for February. The value was responsibility.

Alexia - Alexia has gone above and beyond expectations. Alexia picks up balls on the playground, offers to help with papers, and she always finds something quiet to work on when finished her assignments. Thanks, Alexia! Mr. Clapp

Alexia also got Student of the Month for December. The value was citizenship.

Alexia - Alexia has been an outstanding citizen. She is helpful and considerate. I can always count on Alexia to give her best effort in every situation. Thanks, Alexia! Keep up the good work! Mr. Clapp

Trevor, a budding artist.

Trevor had and art piece from last year get chosen to be on a traveling display. The display goes to all the schools and is displayed for the whole school year.

Pinewood Derby

Don't all Dad's love Pinewood Derby time. James and Trevor "worked" on his car for about two days. He did the wheels in an evening and the body on Saturday. Trevor was so excited. His car last year didn't do all that well. That was not the case this year. He consistently won all of his heats with about the same time, 3.25 seconds. It's pretty funny that a Hummer would be fast. He was beaming. He even beat the Bishop's car going backwards. Alexia brought his car from last to race. The funny thing is, it beat this year's car!! James thinks the pit crew messed up the wheels last year.

STUDENT of the Month

Trevor Chapman is Hillcrest Elementary Student of the Month. (3rd grade This is the second time this school year that he has received this award.)

Because he puts materials away in the classroom and he always picks up the playground at the end of recess. The students appreciate the time and effort he puts into keeping our school environment clean. Trevor demonstrates such positive behavior. I wish I had more just like him in my room. He truly demonstrates this recognition for his hard work.

American Pickers

This is Trevor's favorite show right now. He loves how they look through other peoples stuff, buy it and then resell it. We called grandpa Chapman on his birthday and he asked if he could pick through his shed. Grandpa agreed, just told him to bring his money. So he's saving his money to go to grandpa's.

Trevor was a little nervous about glasses because he would look like a nerd. But he enjoys seeing now.

My baby turns 8!

Trevor was so excited for his birthday. We had to have a party. He invited a few friends (Mariah French, Alexia, Eric Petersen, Rian Hale and Cade Vanbuscker) and we went to Gem State Gymnastics to play. He is really excited to be baptized. But that will have to wait until May, because Mikah will be out of town for the April baptisms.

Back to School

We made it back to school, with minor shuffling. YEEAAAHH!!

Mikah is a Junior with a job as a buser at the Country Club, taking an online class, Orchestra and three advanced classes. Connor is in eight grade, running cross country and yearbook. And taking two advanced classes. Alexia is in fourth grade and Trevor in second grade.

Trevor Kemp Chapman

Trevor entered our family on March 5, 2003 @ 9:00 pm. Weighing in at the largest Chapman baby, 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 3/4 inches long. He was a snugly baby and still is, which in a way is good because he's the last. He is the loudest and most determined of all the kids. Maybe because he is the last. We love you Trevor and glad you chose to live with our family.

Lacrosse has started and James is asst coach for Connor's team. So practice fell on his birthday. Mikah went somewhere, so the rest of us went to Chapalas for dinner. Trevor wanted them to know it was his birthday and he wanted sung to. They didn't disappoint, he even got to were the sombrero.

A Day at the Zoo

Trevor and I had a great time at the zoo yesterday morning. His kindergarden class went for school, along with many other schools. The day started off fairly cool but warmed up fast. We were partnered with Fernando for the trip.
